Here's what Bill has to say about himself
I grew up in Washington and Oregon one of seven children. After high school I attended Stanford University on an ROTC Scholarship and majored in electrical engineering. Upon graduation I served four years in the Navy. When my navy tour of duty was over, I went to work for Hewlett Packard while attending Stanford, receiving my master's degree in electrical engineering and administration. At 34 I left Hewlett Packard to attend law school at the University of Idaho. After law school I set up my practice in McCall, retiring in 2004. I have four children and three grandchildren.
As a Democrat my goal is to bring balance to the legislative process, to ensure that everyone's voice is heard, and that their concerns are addressed. I will strive to the best of my ability to support laws reflecting the long term interests of the community as a whole, rather than only the interests of a party, or those with the clout to secure special treatment.
Too often legislation is proposed, and enacted, that looks only superficially at its impact. Good legislation requires good legislators, those with the necessary skills and life experiences, and the ability to use judgment, rather than rote adherence to a party line. I believe my service this last session has followed these precepts. With that experience under my belt I am hopeful that this session will be even more productive. With your help and input to keep me on track 2008 can be a good year for all of us. Thanks for the opportunity to serve you.
